Break-beat, psy-trance, progressive house, and more make an appearance on the album, with more than a few whiffs of the style and structure from the deadmau5 we know today. A great retrospective on a major artist finding their sound and developing their style, Get Scraped is a fun, worthwhile look at dance music of a different era. With a couple of different releases, and adjustments to the track-list, Get Scraped is all of the eclectic-chaos of an artist trying out different styles that one could hope for. A necessary step in the process, Vexillology is our least favorite deadmau5 studio album, in a list full of high-quality productions. ![]() An undoubtedly more polished, and consistent sound than it’s predecessor, Vexillology lacks the bite and energy of future works. His sophomore album, released by Play Digital, came out in November of 2006, 16 months after the release of (the CD version) of debut work Get Scraped.
